The Role
- Managing a varied caseload of both private family and legal aid matters
- Handling private law children disputes, matrimonial finance matters, and domestic abuse applications
- Taking client instructions and providing clear, practical legal advice
- Drafting witness statements, court applications, legal correspondence, and file notes
- Preparing matters for hearings and court proceedings
- Conducting advocacy at hearings where appropriate
- Undertaking legal research and case preparation
- Liaising with barristers, experts, external agencies, and other professionals
- Ensuring files remain compliant with regulatory and legal requirements
- Supporting the wider family department where required
Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor or CILEX Lawyer with at least 1 year PQE
- Experience handling both private family and legal aid matters
- Strong understanding of children matters and domestic abuse proceedings
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisational abilities with exceptional attention to detail
- Able to work effectively under pressure and manage competing deadlines
- Confident using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Full UK driving licence
