About Us

Harris Westminster combines the energy of brilliant young people from across London's diverse neighbourhoods, the strength of Westminster School in teaching academically able students, and the Harris Federation's experience and expertise in running outstanding maintained sector schools. This sixth form is a unique collaboration between two champions of UK Education; the Harris Federation and Westminster School. It is over-subscribed, academically selective and has incredible diversity in its student cohort with no ethnic group exceeding 20% and 40% of students having received Pupil Premium. 70% of HWSF students go on to study at Russell Group universities and we have one of the largest Oxbridge cohorts of any school (state or private). 34 students from the 2021 cohort gained places and 80+ have interviews in to join them in 2022. We are looking for an outstanding individual to join and support this exciting, scholarly, and vibrant community.

Summary

We are looking for a part-time Exams Officer to join the support team at HWSF to plan and organise all internal and external examinations across the Sixth Form. The days required per week can be flexible dependent on the candidate. The actual salary for this role will be £15,406.93-£16,332.45 (20 hours per week, 38 weeks per year); additional days may be worked by negotiation.

Main Areas of Responsibility

  • Attending relevant meetings
  • Liaising with Heads of Faculty on exam entry requirements
  • Producing and distributing internal and external exam timetables accurately and promptly
  • Managing, recruiting and training invigilators
  • Creating invigilation timetables and covering absences where needed
  • Communicating exam information clearly to students, staff and parents
  • Completing examination entries and liaising with exam boards
  • Administering special considerations, malpractice and related processes
  • Setting up exam venues with required notices and equipment
  • Ensuring compliance with JCQ regulations
  • Distributing exam papers to invigilators on exam days
  • Safely managing exam registers, seating plans and secure materials
  • Liaising with SENDCo to implement access arrangements
  • Arranging alternatives for exam clashes
  • Submitting NEA grades accurately
  • Receiving, checking and securely storing exam papers
  • Managing secure key distribution
  • Organising results distribution and producing data analysis
  • Managing post-results processes and resolving issues
  • Dispatching scripts and coursework as required
  • Circulating exam updates and publications to staff
  • Arranging certificate collection
  • Quality-assuring, printing and preparing internal exam papers

Qualifications & Experience

  • Knowledge of the examination system and procedures
