As part of the Estate Services team, you will provide a high-quality environmental service to communal areas on estates within a specified area. This may include cleaning, litter picking, removal of bulk rubbish/fly tipping, bin store cleaning, and reporting of issues and improvements, ensuring the safety and security of our customers, visitors, and properties.
This role is part of Property where you'll help us lead the way in investing and maintaining 46,000 homes.
What you'll achieve:
- Be responsible for providing a high standard cleaning service to communal areas in blocks including lifts, stairwells, floors, walls, and windows.
- Maintain clear, tidy, and safe refuse areas such as bin stores, chute rooms, and hoppers, following specific cleaning specifications and standards.
- Provide a litter picking and bulk rubbish/fly tipping removal service, which may include noxious substances and drug paraphernalia to ensure estates are maintained to the highest visual standards and are safe.
- Ensure personal protective equipment and machinery are used and maintained safely, reporting any faults or defects, near misses, incidents, or accidents to the Senior Estate Services Operative.
- Ensure that stocks of hazardous and inflammable liquids are stored appropriately and conform to COSHH and fire regulations.
- Carry out estate duties as directed by the Senior Estate Services Operative, including but not limited to snow clearance, gritting, bin and bin store works, minor/routine repairs in communal areas/offices, and removal of graffiti where required.
What you'll bring - Essential Skills:
- Must hold a current full UK driving licence and be willing to drive the association's vehicles, including vans and tipper transits.
- Basic level of numeracy/literacy is required.
- Capability to operate machinery/tipper vans and equipment such as petrol blowers and floor cleaning apparatus.
- Ability and willingness to work internally and externally during all seasons.
- Ability to fulfil the physical requirements of a manual post.
