Position Details

Water Recycling Operations Manager (Logistics)

Salary: Circa £51,000 depending on skills and experience, with a car allowance.

Location: South East, based at Basildon.

Permanent full time - 37 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Orchestrate safe and efficient transportation of sludge from wastewater treatment plants to designated disposal, recycling, or treatment facilities.
  • Plan and schedule tanker operations, ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Track vehicle and driver performance, generate performance reports for senior management.
  • Maintain operator licences and oversee training and development of the operational team.
  • Ensure operations meet drinking water and environmental protection standards.
  • Lead a culture of safety, conduct active management and track observations through the management app.
  • Collaborate across business units and the wider organisation to achieve compliance and business goals.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Transport Managers CPC - UK Road Haulage Operations (National) qualification.
  • Significant experience in UK road transport operations with a senior scheduling/controlling role.
  • Experience in tanker operations, sewage sludge and/or biosolids collection and haulage, and/or sewer jetting operations.
  • Proficient IT skills: MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Health & safety qualification (e.g., NEBOSH).
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Leadership experience with a proven ability to challenge performance and initiate improvements.
