Main Purpose of Job

Leads a shift team within our biodiesel plant, to maximise plant targets ensuring health, safety and environmental compliance

The Team Leader will work a 4 on, 6 off, 12 hour shift system which includes 2 days and 2 nights.

What you will do?

  • Monitors plant performance and communicates actions to shift personnel to ensure KPIs are met.
  • Drives SHEQ compliance by driving high standards for housekeeping, and ensures issues and events are raised and actioned (in Ultimo).
  • Trains and develops the team to ensure they are fully competent and kept up to date with business developments.
  • Maintains accurate records of plant operations, including logs, shift handovers and incident reports.
  • Monitors plant equipment and materials to ensure they are in good condition and stored correctly.

Ensures all issues raised by the team are updated and actioned in the Maintenance system.

  • Ensures Maintenance is carried out according to the predefined schedule and in line with safe systems of work
  • Troubleshoot operational issues and resolve them promptly, coordinating with other departments as needed.
  • Manage all HR related matters to optimise your teams performance in line with HR policies.

  • Familiarity with process equipment (pumps, compressors, reactors, heat exchangers, etc.) and their operation. (essential)

  • Knowledge of SHE legislation (essential)
  • Project management (desirable)

  • Other Experience and Qualifications required
  • Degree in Engineering or Science discipline (desirable)
  • Relevant H&S qualification (desirable)
  • Previous supervisory experience (desirable)
  • GCSEs minimum grade 4 in Maths and English
  • NVQ 2, or equivalent in process, electrical, mechanical or similar (desirable).
  • Oil, gas or chemical industry operational work experience (desirable).
  • Experience of working in an Industrial setting with good safety practices
