The role of the Warehouse Operator is to support the Warehouse management in the day‑to‑day running of the warehouse, ensuring high standards of operation and safety while supporting the main factory with goods and parts. The role also includes additional duties as required.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate forklifts, adhere to safety standards, conduct daily inspections, and maintain forklift condition.
  • Move goods within the warehouse and to/from the factory, including loading and unloading vehicles.
  • Inventory Control – assist with regular stock checks (cycle counts), ensure correct quantities, proper locations, and accurate markings.
  • Deliveries – perform GRN for inbound goods, verify delivery notes, and report discrepancies or damages.
  • Prepare Shipments – ensure all documentation matches dispatched goods.
  • COSHH – store COSHH items correctly according to company guidance.
  • Warehouse Maintenance – keep the warehouse tidy, store equipment properly, and report damages promptly.
  • Coordinate with Management on any additional warehouse tasks.
  • Maintain safety standards within the working environment.
  • Support on‑site waste management.

Preferred Knowledge / Skills / Experience

  • Experience – Minimum of 2 years desirable; training provided.
  • Skills – Good organisational and time‑management skills.
  • Forklift licence (training provided if absent).
  • Ability to use inventory software, databases, and systems (training provided if absent).
  • Good written and oral English, math skills.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects.
  • Capability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to change tasks on short notice.
  • Problem‑solving skills for independent work.
  • Basic computer skills for data input using ERP software.
  • Quality‑control awareness to identify goods that do not meet standards.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and support others.
