A busy secondary school in Barnet is seeking a full-time Pastoral Teaching Assistant from September 2026 - July 2027.

Pastoral Teaching Assistant The Role
  • Support the pastoral lead and Head of Year with the day-to-day management of a year group.
  • Build positive relationships that improve attendance, behaviour, wellbeing and engagement.
  • Provide 1:1 support for students facing social, emotional or behavioural challenges.
  • Be flexible in responding to the needs of the school, including providing classroom support and covering lessons when required.
  • Take on a range of pastoral and administrative responsibilities to ensure students receive the support they need.
Person Specification
  • 2:1 or above from a leading UK University.
  • Strong A-Level results.
  • Flexible, adaptable and confident working across different year groups.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trust with young people.
  • Previous experience working with young people is desirable.
