Are you a BACP registered or accredited counsellor (to a minimum of level 4) or a second‑year counselling student on a level 4 (or above) diploma? Do you want to work in an environment where you can use your counselling skills to achieve the best for people? We are looking for volunteers who would like the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of people who are directly and indirectly affected by alcohol and substance use. You will be expected to work in accordance with BACP guidelines and within our framework for counselling services, which promotes therapeutic safety and sound clinical governance.

Responsibilities

  • Providing counselling within the principles and boundaries of confidentiality.
  • Maintaining appropriate boundaries in the therapeutic relationship.
  • Working within your level of competency.
  • Delivering counselling within a time‑limited framework.
  • Ensuring timely records in line with our information governance requirements.
  • Receiving regular clinical supervision and line management.
  • Following our policies and procedures e.g., safeguarding children and adults.

Please note that we require you to be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this volunteering role. This post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check at an enhanced level.
