Hours: 37 per week. Fixed term until 31st March 2027, with extension possible, subject to continued funding.

Responsibilities

  • Lead on the development, review and continuous improvement of business processes across the service.
  • Line manage a team of skilled administrators, providing clear direction, support and opportunities for development.
  • Oversee the effective and compliant local delivery of The Childcare Offer for Wales, providing appropriate advice, guidance and support to settings on related local and national requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with senior early years officers to develop systems and processes that help ensure consistent, smooth and effective service delivery.
  • Use data, insight and stakeholder feedback to support decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure systems and processes align with local priorities and national policy.

Candidate requirements

  • Experience of managing and co-ordinating business processes within a complex service environment.
  • Strong organisational and analytical skills, with a creative, "can do" approach to solving problems.
  • Experience of offering effective line management of others.
  • Confidence in working with data and digital systems.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues and a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of the early years and childcare sector would be an advantage, but is not essential.

Additional information

  • The role involves travelling throughout the county borough; the postholder will be based at Corneli Integrated Children's Centre.
  • The ability to greet customers through the medium of Welsh is a requirement for this post.
  • Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees.
  • An Enhanced DBS check with Barred List is a requirement for this post.
  • Flexible working arrangements and access to ongoing training and CPD are offered to support professional development.
