An established and growing manufacturing business is seeking a dependable, motivated and hands-on Logistics & Dispatch Operative with a Class 1 HGV licence to join its operations team. This is a key position combining warehouse, dispatch, logistics and driving responsibilities. Initially, the role will be primarily focused on warehouse and dispatch support, with approximately 20-30% of time spent on deliveries and collections. As the business expands, there will be increased opportunity for driving duties. The role would suit someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in maintaining high standards, and wants to contribute to a fast-paced, growing operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the day-to-day running of the warehouse, dispatch and loading areas
  • Prepare, check and organise customer orders for dispatch
  • Load and unload vehicles safely and efficiently
  • Receive and inspect incoming goods and materials
  • Assist with stock movement and warehouse organisation
  • Carry out deliveries and collections using Class 1 HGV vehicles as required
  • Complete daily vehicle safety checks and report defects promptly
  • Ensure all transport documentation and delivery paperwork is accurate
  • Secure loads correctly and ensure safe and professional deliveries
  • Work closely with production, dispatch and management teams to meet order deadlines
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping, organisation and health & safety
  • Represent the business professionally when interacting with customers, suppliers and external contacts

Candidate Requirements

  • Valid Class 1 HGV Licence
  • Driver CPC Qualification
  • Digital Tachograph Card
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Practical, hands-on approach with a strong work ethic
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication skills
  • Strong awareness of health and safety practices
  • Flexible, positive attitude and willingness to support across departments

Desirable (but not essential)

  • Forklift licence
  • Experience in warehouse, logistics, manufacturing or distribution environments
  • Newly qualified Class 1 drivers are encouraged to apply.
