This is a seasonal position for the summer covering June through to September (12 - 16 weeks). Earn £16.50 per hour. Full time and part time hours available. We are looking for an enthusiastic Senior Chef to assist our Head Chef in our fast-paced kitchen. Our Cafes bring the benefit of avoiding those unsociable hours with a 4:30pm finish for all shifts!

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare food in accordance with Creative Gardens recipes, menus and food policies to ensure we achieve consistency between our 4 centres.
  • Be aware and fully understand food allergies and intolerances.
  • Assist the head chef with ensuring the kitchen team are attending to customer orders as promptly as possible and ensure food is served to customers in a minimum time.
  • Help oversee stock rotation, make sure stock is fresh and used by its date, ordering food in line with Creative Gardens suppliers all while ensuring wastage is kept to a minimum.
  • Assist with ensuring the kitchen procedures and records are maintained to the high standards required, in line with H&S procedures, HACCP plan and in accordance with Environmental Health requirements and legislation.
  • At least one year relevant work experience as a senior chef or similar position.
  • Flexible with days of work to include both weekend days.
  • Has good knowledge of environmental health procedures, HACCP and relevant written records.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances, handle various responsibilities and work well under pressure to ensure good service times and customer satisfaction.
  • Producing meals and snacks of high quality and quantity.
  • Capable of performing required tasks such as bending, stooping, lifting heavy objects and standing for extended periods of time.
  • Holds an up to date food hygiene certificate.
  • Has two or more years experience in a similar role and setting.
  • Has experience of motivating and leading a team effectively by setting clear expectations and creating a positive working environment.
