We are seeking a highly motivated, dynamic and delivery-focused senior leader to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of health and care across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland (LLR) and Northamptonshire.
This is an exceptional opportunity to influence at scale – leading major strategic programmes, driving system transformation, and helping to embed a new strategic operating model across a complex, ambitious Integrated Care System.
As Director of Strategy & Deputy Chief Strategy Officer, you will provide senior leadership across a wide portfolio including strategic commissioning, population health management, system development, and large-scale service transformation.
You will work at the heart of a system committed to improving outcomes, reducing inequalities, and delivering new ways of working that reflect the ambitions of the Model ICB and NHS 10‑Year Plan.
Main duties of the job
- Lead the development and delivery of major strategic programmes, including our five‑year Commissioning Strategy and system‑wide transformation priorities.
- Shape and implement the new LNR Operating Model, ensuring alignment with national policy, regional blueprints, and the ambitions of the Model ICB and NHS 10‑Year Plan.
- Provide visible, adaptive, and inclusive leadership across organisational boundaries, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
- Drive population health management, research, digital transformation, and neighbourhood models of care to improve outcomes and reduce inequalities.
- Represent the ICB with authority and credibility at regional and national levels, influencing senior stakeholders and securing alignment across complex partnerships.
- Analyse highly complex issues, navigate ambiguity, and support the development of shared visions and coalitions capable of delivering meaningful change.
- Act as formal Deputy to the Chief Strategy Officer, providing strategic oversight, operational leadership, and high‑level decision‑making when required.
- Build and sustain trusted relationships with senior leaders across providers, local authorities, NHS England, and wider system partners.
