We are currently seeking a Driver / Stores Person to join our successful Manchester team. Reporting to the Distribution Centre Supervisor, you will be assisting with customer deliveries and collections and undertaking a variety of warehouse duties.

Daily duties and responsibilities:

  • Deliver customer orders in the company's van as per delivery schedules, helping organise external carriers for timely despatch when overloads arise on the in-house facility.
  • Prepare deliveries, whenever necessary, and pack/assemble products matching customer orders due for despatch.
  • Maintain good housekeeping standards in the warehouse, with storage of goods aided by mechanical handling equipment (forklift truck, hydraulic lift or any such device provided by the company).
  • Undertake vehicle maintenance and safety checks.
  • Ensure effective rotation of stock holdings to avoid 'aging' in shelf life.
  • Inspection of goods received for quality, damage and/or validation against the company's official purchase order.
  • Accurately complete Goods Received and Goods Despatched documents.

Desired qualifications, experience and attributes:

  • Experience of driving larger vans such as 3.5 tonne Luton vehicles.
  • A flexible, reliable and hard-working team player with a customer-focused attitude who has the skill to develop and maintain excellent interpersonal relationships effectively both internally and with customers.
  • Ability to identify problems and opportunities and respond to them with insight and creativity.
