Hours: 40 hours per week, 5 days out of 7 (Monday-Sunday)

Shift Patterns: Early 06:30 - 15:00, Late 12:00 - 20:30

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Sous Chef to join a busy education catering environment in Wokingham. You will support the Executive Chef in delivering high-quality food while maintaining excellent standards of food safety, hygiene, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and deliver high-quality food, ensuring attention to dietary and allergen requirements
  • Support catering functions and hospitality events
  • Monitor food quality and maintain consistency
  • Supervise kitchen staff and ensure safe working practices
  • Assist with stock control, ordering, and FIFO storage procedures
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and Food Safety standards
  • Record and monitor food waste
  • Contribute to menu development
  • Report maintenance issues and incidents
  • Assist with special events as required

Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience in a similar Sous Chef role
  • Strong attention to detail and standards
  • HACCP knowledge
  • Food Hygiene and Health & Safety certification
  • Flexible and positive approach to work
  • Team leadership experience (desirable)
