An established and highly regarded criminal defence firm in London is seeking a Criminal Defence Paralegal to join its busy and growing team. The firm is recognised as one of the largest criminal defence practices in London and the South East, with a strong reputation for representing clients across a broad range of criminal matters. The team handles everything from police station representation and Magistrates' Court work through to serious Crown Court cases, offering excellent exposure for someone looking to build a long term career in criminal defence.
The successful candidate will support fee earners with case preparation, client contact, legal research, document management and general administrative duties. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated paralegal who is passionate about criminal law and keen to gain hands on experience within a specialist criminal defence environment.
Responsibilities- Assisting solicitors and fee earners with criminal defence matters
- Preparing bundles, correspondence and case documents
- Liaising with clients, courts, counsel and third parties
- Attending conferences, hearings and client meetings where required
- Conducting legal research and assisting with case preparation
- Supporting the wider team with administrative and file management tasks
- Previous paralegal experience, within criminal defence
- A strong academic background and genuine interest in criminal law
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- The ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment
- A proactive, professional and client focused approach
