We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Paediatric Audiologist to join the Paediatric Audiology team based at Castle Hill Hospital in Cottingham, East Yorkshire. You will be working closely with the Paediatric Audiology Team to deliver diagnostic and habilitative provision across the Hull & East Yorkshire area for babies, infants and children, fulfilling the requirements and quality standards outlined by the BAA, BSA, MCHAS, and NDCS.
This role is open to all suitable candidates, and we welcome applications from candidates who require Skilled Worker Visa sponsorship.
Job Summary
This full time post is permanently established at 37.5 hours per week and aims to attain IQIPs accreditation in line with the adult service.
Main Duties
- Deliver diagnostic and habilitative services to paediatric patients.
- Work in community based audiology clinics and occasionally in the acute Trust.
- Support the development of the service towards IQIPs accreditation.
- Collaborate with the broader audiology team and other professionals.
Person Specification:
Education and Qualifications
- BSc or MSc in Audiology or equivalent.
- BAA HTS Modules in Paediatric Audiology.
Knowledge, Training & Experience
- At least 5 years experience as an audiologist.
- Paediatric experience (behavioural audiometry, OAEs, habilitation).
- Paediatric audiology experience in an NHS clinic.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills
- Good written and verbal communication.
- Understanding of professional ethics.
- Familiarity with audiology databases and hearing aid manufacturers software.
- Ability to produce technical reports in clear English.
- Advanced clinical reasoning skills.
- Tactful and efficient interaction with patients and carers.
- Ability to work independently under own guidance.
- Maintains patient confidentiality.
- Proficient with word processors and spreadsheets.
- Knowledge of BSL.
