Our client has been manufacturing for over 60 years. This position would suit a hardworking individual who has a passion for engineering and precision measurement. The company has a dedicated temperature-controlled Quality Assurance Cell which includes two large automated CMMs, one manual CMM, and one surface/profile projector running Aberlink software. Additional equipment includes a Trimos height measurement gauge and a wide range of manual measuring and verification equipment.
Job Overview
- Competent use of metrology and manual inspection equipment to measure precision components to supplied CAD and drawings
- Ability to create, run, and output measurement programs on CMMs, including offline programming, would be beneficial
- Maintain calibration and tooling records for all measurement equipment
- Provide feedback to Production Engineering to improve programs and machining methods
- Fully conversant with engineering drawings, geometric tolerances, revisions, symbols, and layouts
- Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and contribute positively to safety standards across the site
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- Minimum 2 years' experience inspecting precision components
- Experience working within a manufacturing environment certified to ISO 9001 or higher (e.g. AS9100) is essential
- Background in machining or engineering would be beneficial
- Previous CAD/CAM experience would be beneficial
- Good Microsoft Office skills, including Outlook, Excel, and Word
