I am currently supporting a leading Precision engineering organisation, responsible for key contributions within the Motorsport and F1 industry, with their search for a CNC Machinist with experience in offline CAM programming, Heidenhain controls, and night shift working.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC milling machines for high-precision component production.
- Program, edit, and optimize machining processes using Heidenhain controls.
- Work with advanced materials like carbon fibre to create components for industries such as motorsport.
- Perform quality checks to ensure components meet strict specifications and tolerances.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot and optimize machining processes.
- Use Visi machining CAM software for offline programming.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a CNC Machinist with expertise in CNC milling and 5-axis machining.
- Proficiency in programming and operating machines using Heidenhain controls.
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading and GD&T.
- Experience machining motorsport parts and working with carbon fibre components is advantageous.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- CAM Offline programming is extremely important; the preferred programming is Visi Vero.
Day-to-day
The shift times give the option of either 10 or 12 hour shifts Monday to Thursday. Start times are between 16:30pm and 8am.
Benefits
- Competitive hourly rate of £17-£22 per hour + £5 shift allowance.
- 20 days annual leave.
- Overtime paid at 1.5x the standard rate.
