A bit about Afrikana: Afrikana was born in a small village in the Midlands and now it's expanding to the rest of the UK and internationally! The vision is simple: bring authentic, home cooked African inspired dishes to the high street while giving guests an experience full of culture, art, music and great food!
What's the role? As a Kitchen Manager, you'll run the show from the kitchen. You'll have a strong understanding of how a kitchen operates day to day and take full responsibility for leading, supervising and coaching all Back of House team members. You'll make sure food safety, quality and standards are always met while proudly representing Afrikana from the back of house.
What will I do?
- Lead and supervise all Back of House team members
- Coach and develop the kitchen team to perform at their best
- Ensure food quality, consistency and presentation meet Afrikana standards
- Maintain excellent food safety, hygiene and health & safety standards at all times
- Manage food orders, stock levels and deliveries
- Control food waste and support cost efficiency in the kitchen
- Support recruitment, training and onboarding of BOH team members
- Work closely with the General Manager and Front of House team to keep service running smoothly
- Lead by example during busy services and keep the kitchen organised and focused
