We provide good quality primary care to our patients and need a friendly, enthusiastic team manager to support our admin and reception teams and act as the patient liaison. The role is based in Fairford, a small rural town in the Cotswolds. You will be the face of the practice, helping patients access care and managing a small team over a 5‐day week (6‐7 hours per day, 30–36 hours per week).
About the practice: Hilary Cottage Surgery is a rural practice in Fairford with about 7,500 patients and a team of around 35 people, led by three GP partners. The team includes GPs, nurses, pharmacists and an excellent reception and dispensing team.
Job responsibilities:
- Manage a team of up to 8 receptionists and the secretarial and admin team.
- Oversee new patient registration, online access management, private report requirements and significant events process.
- Lead the complaints process and collect and distribute patient feedback.
- Support practice activities at Patient Participation Group (PPG) meetings.
- Provide general assistance to all staff, ensuring a productive and happy atmosphere.
- Manage incoming and outgoing telephone calls, take messages and deal with appropriate queries.
- Maintain and update protocols and processes associated with team activities.
- Assist with gathering statistics and information when required.
- Support the Practice Manager with clerical and administrative duties as requested.
- Undertake any other duties appropriate to the post as requested by the Partners or the Practice Manager.
Person specification:
- GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths or equivalent.
- Experience working in primary care or the NHS.
- Team‐leader or management experience, or a desire to progress to team management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience of managing a team.
- Knowledge of TPP SystmOne.

- GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths or equivalent.
