We have an exciting opportunity to join TOGS Mind CYPF Directorate on a fixed term basis until March 2027, reporting to the Children, Young People and Families Counselling Project Manager. As a CYPF Counsellor, you will be responsible for delivering Person Centred Counselling and emotional wellbeing support to children and young people aged 8-18 within our community-based Take 5 Hub in Oldham.

You will provide 1:1 Person Centred Counselling support to children and young people aged 8-18, holding a caseload of 16 clients each week. Alongside the counselling intervention, you will be expected to communicate effectively with your manager, wider team and other services within the Health and Social Care system to ensure CYP are receiving the appropriate support.

You will work within a trauma informed, person centred approach, ensuring the child or young person's needs are always at the centre of decision making. You will be responsible for identifying and responding to risk and safeguarding situations following organisational policy and procedure.

What you will bring to TOGS Mind:

To be considered for this role, we are looking for experienced candidates that have knowledge, lived experience and qualifications that inform person-centred counselling, to support the mental health and wellbeing of children, young people and their families. You will be a passionate and enthusiastic counsellor who holds a minimum level 4 diploma in Person Centred Counselling.

You will have experience in liaising with other professionals and be committed to providing positive outcomes and achieving organisational goals. You will have experience managing a caseload of children and young people and be able to adapt your approach to meet the needs of young people when needed, while also being able to provide support to parents/carers offering advice and signposting, while also liaising with local services such as CAMHS, Early Help, Social Care, School and other VCFSE partners.

Strong interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to build trusting relationships, foster collaboration and communicate empathically with families.
