Bright Horizons Buckhurst Hill Day Nursery & Preschool is seeking an Early Years Apprentice to work at 82 Palmerston Road, Buckhurst Hill, Essex, IG9 5LG. Salary starts from £27,976 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience). The role is full‑time, 40 hours per week, Monday‑Friday.
Responsibilities
- Work as part of a team to look after babies and children up to the age of 5.
- Engage children in interactive play, activities and reading to support their learning.
- Attend all required training and coursework for the formal qualification with the support of your assessor.
- Reflect on and proactively use new ideas and initiatives, including feedback, to enhance development and learning.
Qualifications & Experience
- Commitment to completing the apprenticeship.
- English qualification GCSE Grade C / Level 4 or above, or Functional Skills Level 2 (or willingness to complete alongside the apprenticeship).
- Previous experience working with children is beneficial but not essential (e.g. Nursery Bank Staff, Nursery Assistant, Teaching Assistant, Nursery Practitioner, Early Years Educator, Nanny, Childminder).
- Passion for making learning fun and engaging for each child.
- Ability to develop trust and strong working partnerships with colleagues and parents.
- Ability to use a variety of communication techniques with both children and adults.
