We are seeking an outstanding and collaborative individual to join our team as Chair in Health and Care Inequalities. This senior academic role offers an exceptional opportunity to provide strategic leadership in research, innovation and teaching within the Division of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Work, School of Health Sciences, Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health. The post holder will join a large, vibrant and interdisciplinary academic community at the University of Manchester and will play a key role in shaping and advancing contemporary agendas to reduce health and care inequalities at local, national and international levels. This is a full time, permanent Professorial appointment (Grade 9E) based on the University's Oxford Road campus.

You will be responsible for:

  • Leading and delivering a high impact, externally funded research programme focused on health and care inequalities
  • Shaping contemporary research agendas and contributing to interdisciplinary and cross faculty research challenges
  • Producing and disseminating research outputs of national and international standing
  • Translating research findings into practice and policy across clinical, community and public settings
  • Providing academic leadership, including mentoring early and mid career researchers and supervising postgraduate research students
