We are looking for a reliable and compassionate Male Personal Assistant (genuine occupational requirement) to support a 40 year old gentleman living with paranoid schizophrenia for 4 hours per week. This role involves supporting access to the community, promoting wellbeing and encouraging engagement in activities such as fitness, sports, boxing, gardening, shopping and music/TV.
Principal duties and responsibilities
- Morning support to establish a positive routine.
- Collecting and dropping off the employer.
- Supporting access to gym, exercise and community activities.
- Providing encouragement, reassurance and emotional support.
- Promoting independence, dignity and choice.
Essential requirements
- Male applicant (genuine occupational requirement).
- Experience with severe mental health conditions (professional or lived experience).
- Calm, patient and understanding approach.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a car.
- Respect for confidentiality and boundaries.
- Enhanced DBS and references required.
Person Centred Care Plan Summary
- 4 hours per week delivered as 2 2 hour morning sessions.
- Community based support including collection and drop off.
- Support Activities: Gym sessions, boxing or exercise, outdoor activities and gardening, shopping and errands, general wellbeing and routine building.
