Certus Recruitment has been a trusted partner to founders, operators, and investors across the technology landscape for over 25 years. As we look to grow and expand our technology practice across the UK, we're looking for an ambitious Associate Director to take ownership of building something genuinely great - starting with a desk, and growing into a team around them. This isn't a role for someone looking to maintain the status quo. It's for someone who sees an established platform, a warm client base, and 25 years of hard-won reputation as exactly the launchpad they've been waiting for.
At Certus, our values aren't a line on a website - they're how we show up every day. Passion, Energy, Commitment, Integrity, and Fun aren't aspirational words for us; they're the standard we hold ourselves to and the culture we've built over 25 years. We're looking for someone who doesn't just tick those boxes on paper, but who genuinely lives and breathes them - because that's exactly what we do.
What You'll Do
- Take ownership of Certus's technology recruitment practice and build it into a market-leading proposition across the UK.
- Re-engage and develop a solid portfolio of existing clients, turning warm relationships into long-term, repeat partnerships.
- Win new business through genuine relationship building - getting in front of clients, understanding their world, and becoming a trusted advisor.
- Recruit across the full breadth of the technology landscape - software and web development, project services, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and beyond.
- Build your desk first, then build the team around you as the practice grows.
- Be present - with clients, with candidates, and with the market. Face to face where possible, always.
Who We're Looking For
- We're open on specialism. You might come from software or web development recruitment, project services, cybersecurity, infrastructure, or any other area of technology.
- What matters is that you know how to build - clients, relationships, pipelines, and teams - and that you have the hunger and self-belief to go and do it.
- Minimum 3+ years' experience in technology recruitment.
- A strong billing history and demonstrable track record of winning and retaining clients.
- Experience recruiting across one or more technology disciplines - specialism matters less than credibility and commercial acumen.
- A genuine love of client relationships - someone who prefers a coffee and a conversation over hiding behind a screen.
- The organisational discipline to manage a full desk while keeping an eye on the bigger picture.
- Ambitious, driven, and genuinely motivated to build something - not just fill a seat.
What We Offer
- Competitive base salary + uncapped commission.
- A warm client base and established brand to hit the ground running with.
- Real ownership of the technology practice and a clear path to building a team beneath you.
- Freedom to recruit across the UK, backed by 25 years of market presence and relationships.
- Mentorship and support from experienced leaders who've done it themselves.
- A high-performance culture where ambition is recognised and rewarded.
- A platform to build something lasting - not just a billing number.
