Are you an experienced Buyer looking for your next opportunity? We are recruiting on behalf of a leading UK manufacturer operating within the automotive and motorsport sector, for an experienced Buyer to join their established Purchasing team. This is an excellent opportunity that would suit you if you have experience within buying within an engineering and manufacturing environment.
Role: Buyer (Permanent) — Monday to Thursday 8:00–16:45, Friday 8:00–12:30. Location: Coventry.
Responsibilities
- Manage supplier relationships to achieve quality, cost, and delivery targets.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions for engineering components and services.
- Support sourcing activities, supplier selection, RFQs, and continuous improvement projects.
- Manage purchasing activities relating to engineering changes and supplier performance.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and support reporting requirements.
Essential Experience / Skills / Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years' purchasing experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Experience managing direct material suppliers and technical engineering commodities.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and supplier management skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and comfortable working with ERP/MRP systems.
