The Business Management, Analytics and Controls function is pivotal in supporting the efficient operations of the Liquidnet business. The team provides detailed trading analysis to our sales organisation, monitors business performance, manages end‑to‑end business initiatives, and ensures the front office maintains strong oversight and management of key risks and controls. This role offers hands‑on learning and insight into the Business Management, Analytics and Controls function. It is well suited to someone with strong analytical, organisational, strategic and technical ability looking to develop their career through diverse exposure to all areas of the business. Responsibilities
- Provide ad‑hoc analysis support to meet day‑to‑day business needs and drive results, using reporting tools and database queries to answer questions from a broad spectrum of customers including Sales Team, Operations, Compliance and Management Teams.
- Update and enhance existing business processes to help drive efficiencies.
- Conduct ongoing business performance monitoring, competitor/market analysis, product analysis, and the production of performance commentary and analysis.
- Perform exploratory analysis to drive product effectiveness, client interaction and internal business processes.
- Support account review processes in coordination with regional sales management.
- Assist in preparing key internal and external presentations and marketing materials, including Town Halls and business line Operating Committee updates.
- Drive the development and forecasting of regional budgets and KPIs.
- Drive necessary change management governance and assist in monitoring and tracking new business initiatives.
- Build and maintain relationships with Liquidnet sales teams, external partners, senior management and corporate functions.
- Assist in processes required to support the SMCR Reasonable Steps framework.
- Maintain, strengthen and build the regional governance framework by implementing and maintaining robust risk and control measures in partnership with global COO and Risk teams.
- Demonstrate the effectiveness of Business Control responsibilities and objectives through dashboards, reporting and key operational risk management tools.
- Identify, track and monitor actions relevant to key control gaps and remediation.
- Own, maintain, enhance and test a comprehensive controls library reflecting all key controls.
- Work with Compliance & Risk Management to manage the First Line of Défense (1LOD) responsibilities within the Operational Risk Framework, including control assessments and attestation, quality assurance activities, management of loss event reporting, policy creation, compliance and testing.
- Prepare materials for Divisional Risk and Control Forums and Regional Governance meetings.
- Assist senior managers with trend analysis oversight (i.e., T&E, client activity, etc.).
- Support Financial Risk Management in the identification of credit risks and implementation of credit limit restrictions.
- Ensure all employee trainings are created, Liquidnet specific and completed by staff.
- Manage the client and partner questionnaire response process end‑to‑end.
- Support audit teams on any Liquidnet audits and closure points.
- Serve as the front office point of contact for regulatory exams in coordination with Compliance.
- Facilitate the Transparency Working Group (TWG) and Trading Rules policy, which oversee issues relating to protection of customer data.
- Support the Liquidnet Data Owner with managing, testing, and reporting that ensures that the data governance and role‑based approval framework is abided to.
Experience & Competencies
- 7+ years of experience in business management, business controls, sales analytics, or equivalent role.
- Solid understanding of sales analysis and relevant business operations.
- Expertise in SQL, Excel, and reporting tools (IBM Cognos, Qlik, Microsoft Power BI, etc.).
- Strong ability to analyse data and generate insights to drive business decisions.
- Strong communication and excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in PowerPoint.
- Detail‑oriented with a high level of accuracy and reliability, responding quickly to requests from clients and management.
- Proven ability to develop detailed plans, collaborate across teams, monitor progress, and manage risks/issues effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership of tasks and deliver results independently while working in a cross‑functional team environment.
- Must be a team player with a willingness to engage in new projects and assist other departments as needed.
- Interest and understanding of global market and trading products is a plus.
- Familiarity with industry Risk Management best practices such as RCSAs, risk event reporting, KRIs, KCIs, scenario analysis, control testing framework, end‑to‑end process & controls reviews, and new business governance.
- Experience with a broker.
- Python proficiency is a preferred skill for added technical insight.
