Come and join us! We currently have a permanent opportunity for a Poultry Welfare Officer to join our team in Flixton/Bungay. Hours of work are 4:45 AM – 3:50 PM.

Main Responsibility

The key responsibilities of the role will be to oversee the welfare of poultry, from arrival at site through to kill, ensuring that all legislative industry standards are met.

Daily Duties

  • Ensure welfare checks on all livestock on arrival and throughout processing; provide feedback to Technical Manager & Factory Manager; communicate with regulatory officials.
  • Complete all records and paperwork for welfare checks and related duties.
  • Carry out temperature and humidity checks.
  • Perform gas readings on the easy load.
  • Log loads on breakdowns.
  • Perform start‑up checks to ensure all live bird areas meet hygiene and safety standards; investigate deaths on arrival and recommend improvements.
  • Ensure completion of all daily/weekly AW documentation.
