A leading main contractor is seeking an experienced Building Services Manager to support the delivery of major construction projects in Edinburgh. Working closely with the project leadership team, you will take responsibility for the management and coordination of all M&E services from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover, ensuring programme, quality, and compliance objectives are achieved throughout the project lifecycle. This is a key appointment within the business, offering the opportunity to work on complex, high-value developments within a well-established and forward-thinking environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate all mechanical & electrical services throughout the full project lifecycle
  • Support pre-construction and operational teams with technical input and procurement strategy
  • Review subcontractor packages, technical submissions, and design information
  • Drive services coordination across design, programme, and site delivery activities
  • Chair coordination, progress, and commissioning meetings with consultants and subcontractors
  • Monitor programme performance, quality standards, compliance, and project risk
  • Work closely with operational and commercial teams to ensure successful project delivery
  • Oversee commissioning activities, testing procedures, and project handover
  • Ensure utilities, commissioning documentation, and O&M manuals are delivered in line with project requirements
  • Support the delivery of a high quality, fully compliant finish

Requirements

  • Proven experience operating as a Building Services Manager within a main contractor environment
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with good electrical understanding
  • Experience delivering M&E packages on large scale construction projects
  • Background in design and/or design & build projects
  • Strong coordination, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • HNC/HND or Degree qualified in Building Services or related discipline preferred
