About the role
In this full time vacancy of 32 hours per week, you will be a Kitchen Assistant at HC One.
You'll value kindness above all, ensuring residents receive nutritious, well balanced meals and a caring, respectful dining experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist with meal preparation under the direction of the Chef or Cook.
- Serve meals promptly and with warmth and respect.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, including equipment and surfaces.
- Monitor and record food storage temperatures.
- Support stock rotation and proper storage of ingredients.
- Demonstrate safe use of kitchen equipment to new team members.
- Wash up and keep the kitchen spotless, even after a busy lunch rush.

Qualifications
We're looking for someone with some kitchen experience and a real passion for helping others.
You'll need either an NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation or a willingness to work towards it.
Strong organisational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to follow recipes and record information accurately are essential.
Most importantly, each interaction with a Resident or co worker must show patience, respect, and genuine kindness.
Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility.
You must recognise signs of abuse, harm or neglect and know what to do if concerns arise, including escalating if action is not taken.
All colleagues must attend safeguarding training appropriate to their role.
Work requirements
The role is available only to individuals who already have the full right to work in the UK.
