About the role

Full‑time vacancy of 32 hours per week.

As a Kitchen Assistant at HC‑One, your primary focus is kindness, supporting residents with dignity and care through food.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with meal preparation under the direction of the Chef or Cook
  • Serve meals with warmth and respect in a timely manner
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, including equipment and surfaces
  • Monitor and record food‑storage temperatures (fridges, freezers, etc.)
  • Support stock rotation and ensure ingredients are properly stored
  • Show new team members how to safely use kitchen equipment
  • Wash dishes and keep the kitchen spotless after busy shifts

Qualifications

  • Some kitchen experience
  • NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation, or willingness to work toward it
  • Strong organisational skills and keen eye for detail
  • Ability to follow recipes and record information accurately
  • Patience, respect, and genuine kindness when interacting with residents and colleagues
  • Safeguarding
