About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Apprenticeship Learning Coach in Science to support and guide apprentices throughout their learning journey. You will manage a caseload of science-based apprentices, working closely with employers to ensure high-quality training, progression, and achievement. The role involves delivering effective coaching, monitoring progress through regular reviews, and ensuring apprentices develop the knowledge, skills, and behaviours required to successfully complete their programme. You will play a key role in maintaining strong employer relationships, promoting apprenticeship opportunities, and ensuring all activity meets awarding body and funding compliance requirements. You will also be responsible for conducting workplace visits, supporting portfolio development, and ensuring that appropriate Health & Safety and Safeguarding standards are in place. This is a dynamic and varied role requiring flexibility, strong organisation, and a commitment to delivering an outstanding apprentice experience.
About the Person
You will have experience within a science-related field (e.g. laboratory science, applied science, or a related discipline) and a passion for supporting others to succeed. The successful candidate will:
- Have experience of working in a science environment and a good understanding of industry practices
- Be confident in coaching and mentoring individuals in a work-based learning setting
- Demonstrate excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage caseloads and meet deadlines
- Have strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective engagement with apprentices and employers
- Be able to monitor progress, provide constructive feedback, and support learners to achieve their full potential
- Have an understanding of apprenticeship standards and compliance requirements (or willingness to develop this knowledge)
- Show commitment to safeguarding, equality, and promoting a positive learning environment
