This manager will ensure the store operates efficiently and cost-effectively by managing inventory levels, reducing waste, and ensuring ingredients and supplies are available to meet customer demand without overstocking.
Responsibilities
- The Stock and Inventory Manager is responsible for maintaining optimal inventory levels, minimizing waste, and ensuring product availability to support smooth day to day operations.
- This position plays a key role in cost control, food safety, and overall store efficiency.
- Monitor and maintain accurate inventory of all food items and supplies.
- Place regular orders with approved vendors based on usage and forecasted needs.
- Receive, inspect, and properly store deliveries.
- Implement and oversee FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures to minimize waste.
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly stock counts and reconcile discrepancies.
- Track food waste and implement waste reduction strategies.
- Ensure compliance with standards and local food safety regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of storage areas (coolers, freezers, dry storage).
- Prepare regular inventory and waste reports for management.
- Collaborate with the store manager and kitchen staff to forecast inventory needs.
- Train and support staff on inventory handling procedures.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in inventory, stock management, or food service preferred.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Basic math and analytical abilities.
- Familiarity with inventory software and POS systems (experience is a plus).
- Attention to detail and commitment to food safety.
- Ability to lift and move boxes (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
