The Portsmouth Marriott Hotel is looking for a Conference & Banqueting Shift Leader to support and lead the Conference and Banqueting Team.
What you'll be doing as a Conference and Banqueting Shift Leader:
- Prepare coffee breaks, carts and stations with appropriate supplies
- Organize tables, action stations, buffets, and carts for service
- Communicate any additional meal requirements or special requests to the kitchen
- Ensure courses are properly cleared and crumbed in a timely fashion
- Manage the presentation of tableware so that it is accessible for the guests
- Monitor cleanliness and proper sanitization of tables, stations and service areas
- Lead shifts and serve as a role model to our fantastic banqueting team
- Lead on delivery of our amazing range of conference and events
- Organize the day to day running of our events to ensure a smooth and seamless operation
- Support the Restaurant and Bar operation within our Cast Iron Bar and Grill
- Work closely and efficiently with our passionate Sales and Events department
A successful Conference and Banqueting Shift Leader:

- Is proactive, reliable and can support shifts including weekends and bank holidays

With this role you will be working 40 hours per week over 5 days, including weekends with a variety of early and late shifts. If you need flexibility, we are happy to discuss this with you.
