The predicted salary is between 12 - 14 £ per hour.

Due to increased activity, we have a number of exciting roles available within the bank as Bank Admin Support and Support Secretaries. Queen Victoria Hospital is looking to increase the amount of people available to work across a number of administrative areas to help support our full-time workforce continue to deliver an excellent service to the local community of East Grinstead.

Main duties of the job:

  • Establish and maintain electronic and manual filing systems.
  • Inputting and manipulation of data into relevant computer databases, creating documents, including lists and operational information for internal and external clients.
  • Administrate and process paperwork within structured ways of working.
  • Make routine and prioritised appointments either face to face or over the telephone with a diverse customer base where communication barriers can be unique to individual customers.
  • Respond to internal and external enquiries, and take appropriate action on behalf of the service, either by telephone, personal contact or correspondence, within agreed time limits.
  • Plan and prioritise completion of daily tasks with the possibility of frequent interruptions which can re-prioritise daily workloads.
  • Organise daily tasks (and weekly activities), ensuring team members are aware and updating supervisors, including any work handovers to support business continuity.
  • Report any issues and/or concerns to supervisor, including task awareness, as appropriate.
  • Follow Trust standard operating procedures for the type of work assigned.
  • Action any post, telephone, e-mail or written requests as instructed or in line with operating procedures.
  • Staff clinical reception desks, providing general assistance to team members and the public in a positive and friendly manner.

Qualifications:

  • Numeracy and literacy qualifications eg. GCSE or 'O' level grade D or above, CSE grade 1, Adult numeracy and literacy or Key skills Level 1 or equivalent qualification.
  • Qualification in customer service/administration discipline.

Experience:

  • Previous administration experience.
  • Use of Microsoft packages.
  • Experience of spreadsheets and data.
  • NHS or health care setting experience.
  • Customer service.

Knowledge:

  • Understanding of confidentiality within a health care setting.
  • Basic awareness of IT and IT skills including telephone systems and databases.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.

Salary: £12.92 to £14.05 an hour exclusive of WTD.
