Mount Charles Group is recruiting a Food Service Assistant to join our team at Newbridge Integrated College, Banbridge.

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 15 hours per week, 11:30am - 2:30pm (term time)

The Role:

  • Assist in the preparation, service and sale of all food and beverages for the unit
  • Prepare service counter (including placing food and beverages in appropriate containers and ensuring correct utensils are available)
  • Provide the highest level of customer service in a consistent approach to anyone who uses the facility
  • Work as part of the team to ensure service is delivered on time and to a consistently high standard
  • Carry out all cleaning duties as instructed by the line manager or per unit cleaning rota
  • Keep kitchen and service areas clean and tidy and assist with waste removal
  • Clear and wash dishes in the dining area as required
  • Be responsible for cash handling duties under your control
  • Assist with moving and setting up of furniture for catering purposes in designated areas
  • Report defective equipment, utensils, work and floor surfaces or any other health and safety issues

The Person:

  • Make customers aware of current offers and upsell additional products where possible
  • Report all customer suggestions, comments or complaints to the line manager
  • Serve customers in a quick and efficient manner
  • Maintain high standards of personal hygiene, clothing and footwear
  • Demonstrate passion for providing good customer service
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Working knowledge of HACCP regulations
  • Basic food hygiene certificate
