As EU Investment Operations Lead, you will manage the European Agency and Private Debt deal‑closing functions and oversee all settlement activity for European Capital Market funds and Managed Accounts. Your responsibilities cover a broad range of asset classes including Loans, Bonds, Structured Credit, Derivatives, FX, primary and secondary distressed trades, and all related settlement and reconciliation work with counterparties, custodians, agent banks and clients.
Primary Functions & Essential Responsibilities
- Work with the Deal Team, Legal Counsel, Lenders, Borrowers and internal teams on Direct Lending Deal Closings for Europe.
- Review and negotiate administrative issues of Credit Agreements, ensuring operational compatibility, risk and efficiency.
- Coordinate initial deal funding, manage cash movements, payment mechanics, cut‑offs and timely issue escalation.
- Stakeholder coordination with Deal Team, counsel, Finance, Investment Accounting and Compliance.
- Manage equity bookings/funding; coordinate equity conversions and restructure bookings.
- Act as Facility Agent, handling cash/PIK calculations, facility upsizes, repayment mechanics, waivers, etc.
- Participate in LMA initiatives.
- Manage a high‑volume inbox, prioritise and resolve stakeholder requests efficiently.
- Ensure accurate, timely booking of deals and act as escalation point for par and cash breaks across Ares entities.
- Coordinate restructurings and amendments (Debt‑to‑Debt, Debt‑to‑Equity, term changes), driving stakeholder alignment and execution.
- Manage the outsourced Sub Agent, oversee workflows and controls, maintain oversight and sign‑off on relevant outsourced functions.
- Identify and transition suitable workstreams to India Operations, providing clear procedures and training support.
- Contribute to London Operations SOPs, identify process improvements, and participate in implementation.
- Strengthen controls by identifying issues and contributing to KPI/KRI reporting.
Education / Certification
A degree is welcomed but not essential; equivalent experience and technical capability will be considered.
Required Knowledge and Experience
- 10+ years of knowledge of bank loans, investment management operations, and basic accounting principles.
- Experience with WSO, Advent‑Geneva, Everest Black Mountain is an advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables), Outlook and Word.
- Minimum 7-10+ years of investment‑management operations experience, working with internal and external clients as well as offshore teams.

- Strong organisational and time‑management skills with the ability to prioritise work.
