At Penn Hall, making a difference is part of everyday life. Penn Hall School is a special school in Wolverhampton for pupils aged 3 to 19 with a wide range of special educational needs, including physical disabilities, severe learning difficulties, and autism. We are seeking an Attendance Administrator / Family Liaison & Receptionist to support pupils, families, and staff across the school. This varied role combines attendance monitoring, family liaison, and part-time reception duties.
You will:
- Promote good attendance and punctuality.
- Work with families to reduce barriers to school.
- Liaise with staff and external agencies.
- Maintain accurate records.
- Provide a professional front of house service on designated reception days.
Reception duties form part of the role on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 2:00 p.m. onwards and all day on Thursdays.
The Opportunity:
- Monitor and track attendance daily, ensuring registers and pupil records are accurate and up to date.
- Work closely with the Welfare Manager, staff, and families to identify attendance concerns and support follow-up actions.
- Build positive relationships with parents/carers and liaise with external agencies where needed to support attendance and welfare.
- Provide reception cover, manage enquiries and visitors professionally, and maintain secure safeguarding procedures.

- Strong administrative and organisational skills, with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, confident and sensitive when interacting with families, staff, and external professionals.
- A calm, professional, and approachable demeanour, able to manage competing priorities in a busy school office.
- A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and supporting every child to thrive.
- Experience of attendance administration, school systems, reception work, or family liaison would be an advantage.
