We’re seeking a lawyer with experience in defending motor crime investigations and prosecutions to join our specialist Regulatory Crime Department in Manchester. The role involves working on a high‑quality caseload within a market‑leading team recognised in the Legal 500 for Motor Crime.
Responsibilities
- Work on a high-quality, often high-profile caseload, representing clients across England & Wales – from early police investigations through to trial.
- Typical matters include: death by dangerous or careless driving; serious injury by careless driving; careless driving offences; drink driving; speeding; no insurance.
- Provide police station representation; criminal court proceedings; Coroners' Court work; complex cases supported by leading experts and King's Counsel.
- Operate in a corporate, insurer-backed environment (no legal aid work).
Qualifications / Requirements
- NQ Solicitors, Legal Executives, and experienced lawyers (all PQE levels) considered; defence or prosecution backgrounds.
- Knowledge of the Criminal Justice System (England & Wales).
- Experience with or exposure to motoring offences; strong communication and client-handling skills.
- Proactive, resilient approach in a fast-paced environment; willingness to travel nationally; full UK driving licence essential.
- Advocacy experience is beneficial but not required.
