Full time, 2 year convertible tenure track at UNSW, Sydney, NSW, Australia. Salary, Level D - AUD $185,917 to $204,218 per annum + 17% superannuation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead high impact research in Artificial Intelligence and Natural Language Processing, including large language models and social media analytics, with national and international visibility.
  • Shape the strategic direction of research and education in AI and NLP at the School of Computer Science and Engineering.
  • Foster industry engagement and collaborations, contributing to the School's research profile and educational excellence.
  • Secure competitive research funding, lead research initiatives, and supervise higher degree research students.
  • Deliver high quality teaching and develop curriculum at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
  • Demonstrate clear leadership within the discipline, including academic governance and program development.

Qualifications and Skills

  • A PhD (or equivalent) in a related discipline and/or relevant work experience.
  • Proven commitment to staying current with discipline knowledge and developments.
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching and learning design, course development and delivery at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
  • Experience with educational technologies and online delivery methods.
  • Evidence of teaching effectiveness, passion for educational excellence, and fostering this in others.
  • Demonstrated experience with industry or work integrated learning.
  • Professional development of teaching practice and leadership of an inclusive culture of excellence in learning and teaching.
