Responsibilities

  • Oversee the entire front office operation to maintain high standards.
  • Assist the Front Office Manager in evaluating guest satisfaction and monitoring trends.
  • Serve as point of contact for regular and important guests.
  • Maximise room occupancy at best rates and use up selling techniques to promote hotel services.
  • Handle acceptance of foreign currencies, credit cards and cash according to hotel credit policy.
  • Represent the Night Manager and other senior managers in their absence.
  • Act in accordance with all security and emergency procedures.
  • Compile adequate handover to early staff/Duty Manager.
  • Attend training courses, where required, and assist with the night team's training and development efforts.
  • Maintain knowledge of hotel products, services, pricing and policies, and local area.
  • Operate front of house equipment and property management systems according to policy.
  • Conduct health and safety checks and night walks.
  • Maintain good status awareness of all hotel areas.

Qualifications

  • Previous supervisory experience in front office within hotel, leisure or retail sector.
  • Competent IT proficiency.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills.
  • Commitment to delivering high level customer service.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Positive attitude and good communication skills.
  • Flexibility to respond to a variety of work situations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
