We are looking for experienced GP receptionists to join our team. The ideal candidate will have worked in general practice previously within a reception/admin role. We are a multi-site organisation with 4 practices in the Tameside area. You will benefit from support from our team of reception supervisors, administrators and practice managers. Full and part time considered. Applicants must be flexible with working hours.

Main duties of the job:

  • Greet patients warmly and assist them with the check-in process.
  • Manage incoming calls, schedule appointments, and handle patient inquiries.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and update information as necessary.
  • Process patient registrations and verify insurance details.
  • Coordinate with medical staff to ensure efficient patient flow and communication.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing correspondence.
  • Ensure the reception area is organised and welcoming for patients.
  • Comply with all health regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  • Process referrals to community and secondary care.
  • Action incoming prescription requests from patients, pharmacies and other healthcare professionals.

We are a group of 4 GP practices in Tameside. Successful applicants will be working across the four sites in Tameside. Supported by our current team of experienced receptionists, reception supervisors, administrators and practice managers. We are a hard-working and caring team with patient care and experience at the heart of our organisation.

Person Specification:

Previous experience of working within an admin/receptionist role within General Practice.
