Taking Teaching Further & Additional Incentives
If you're making the move into further education teaching, you may be eligible for the Taking Teaching Further (TTF) programme, a funded route to help industry professionals retrain as FE teachers. In addition, for roles in high need subjects or regions you may also benefit from the government's targeted retention incentive payments, worth up to £6,000 for eligible teachers in their first five years and teaching certain short age subjects. Please note eligibility for both TTF and the targeted retention incentive varies by role, subject area and provider; they do not apply to every vacancy.

About the Role
This is a programme leadership role within our new Connect2 SEMH curriculum, with a focus on Hospitality. You will develop and lead a structured programme that supports learners with SEMH needs to re-engage with education and progress into further learning or employment. This is a new and growing provision, which gives you the opportunity to shape the curriculum, systems and learner journey from the start. You will work closely with the Curriculum Manager to design a sequenced, career focused offer that balances vocational learning with personal development. You will have the opportunity to develop leadership skills, contribute to wider curriculum design and work with external partners to create meaningful progression routes. You will also support the use of adaptive teaching approaches and tools that meet the needs of SEMH learners.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver a high-quality Hospitality curriculum within the Connect2 SEMH provision.
- Design and sequence learning that builds practical skills, confidence and employability.
- Track learner progress, attendance and behaviour, using data to drive improvement.
- Build strong relationships with learners, families and external professionals.
- Support and guide staff to ensure consistent, adaptive teaching approaches.
- Develop progression pathways into further education, training or employment.
Qualifications
- Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards.
- Relevant vocational qualification in Hospitality or Catering.
- Experience working with learners with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour.
- Experience delivering vocational or practical based learning.
- Strong behaviour management and relationship building skills.
- Ability to plan, deliver and adapt engaging sessions.
- Experience tracking learner progress and using data to inform practice.
- Ability to work with families and external agencies to support learners.
- Experience leading a curriculum area or managing a programme.
- Knowledge of trauma informed or therapeutic approaches.
- Experience working within post 16 or alternative provision settings.
- Understanding of local labour market opportunities within Hospitality.
- Experience supporting learners into employment or further education.
