6 Cleansing Operatives to work within the Southern Health and Social Care Trust, at their Craigavon Area Hospital site.
4 of these posts are required for a period of 6 months, with the possibility of extension.
2 of these posts are required for a period of 8 weeks, to cover the summer holidays.
The successful candidate must be able to communicate effectively, display excellent organisational and cleanliness skills and be fully flexible to work weekdays and weekends.
Hours of work are based on the below shift pattern
- 08:15 - 17:00
- 11:15 - 2000
- 14:15 - 2000
- 2000 - 0645
Pay rate for these roles will be
- £17.92 Saturday
Main duties
- Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, pack, and sterilise reusable surgical instruments and medical devices in accordance with departmental policies and national standards.
- Operate and monitor washer-disinfectors, ultrasonic cleaners, and steam sterilisation equipment to ensure effective processing of medical instruments.
- Conduct quality assurance checks on instruments and sterilisation cycles, maintaining compliance with infection prevention and control requirements.
- Inspect surgical instrument sets for cleanliness, functionality, and completeness before sterilisation and distribution.
- Maintain accurate documentation and traceability records for instrument processing, sterilisation cycles, and equipment performance.
- Prepare and supply sterile instrument trays and procedure packs to operating theatres, wards, and clinical departments within required timeframes.
What We Need From You
- At least 1 year of relevant experience in a similar role.
- Willing to undertake an Access NI check.
- Ability to work unsupervised and under own initiative.
