Overview of the Air or Road Export Freight Clerk position at an independent freight forwarder.
Responsibilities:
- Air or road freight export operations.
- Co‑ordination with customers and overseas agents.
- Door to door shipments.
- Prepare and submit export customs entries on CDS, fully compliant in all freight/shipping procedures.
- Monitor ETA and advise of any changes.
- Updating customers with the status of their shipments.
- Ensuring each customer receives all required documentation.
- Invoicing jobs in a timely manner.
- Providing excellent customer services, dealing with queries and problem solving.
Qualifications:
- Proven track record in airfreight or road freight export operations.
- CDS experience preferred; training will be provided if not available.
- Able to prioritize own workload but also work as part of a team.
- Great communication skills (written and verbal).
- Customer services orientated.
- Due to CAA & DfT legislation, DBS check covering the last 5 years required.
- Able to provide 5-year references with no unexplained gaps.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary band £28,000-32,000 with annual bonus.

- Working Hours: Monday to Friday 08:30‑17:00 or 09:00‑17:30.
