An opportunity has arisen for you to join our friendly practice team at Mickleover Surgery. We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed person to join our team as a part-time administrator. Your work will be vital to ensure that patient records are maintained accurately, and to assist with the smooth running of the day-to-day administration operations. Part‑time 20 hours per week. Salary £12.75 per hour. SystmOne experience preferred, or similar clinical system in primary care.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide administrative support to the practice team.
  • Process and code clinical information received in clinical correspondence from secondary care and other parties.
  • Summarise and read code relevant information from patients' clinical records into the practice computer system.
  • Assist with the referral process.

About us

We are a small GP Practice in Mickleover, with approximately 6,500 patients, and we are looking to recruit a part‑time administrator to join our friendly team. We have a clinical team of 2 GP Partners, 4 Salaried GPs, 1 Practice Nurse and 1 Pharmacist. We are part of Greater Derby PCN. At Mickleover Surgery we aim to provide high quality patient care in a culture which prioritises learning, innovation and team‑based working in a safe environment where staff feel valued, empowered and supported, in order to improve patient outcomes.

Job responsibilities

  • Document processing, coding & inputting clinical data accurately and in line with practice protocols.
  • Reviewing medical records and producing an accurate summary of the patients medical history using the clinical system (SystmOne).
  • Assisting with processing referrals in the absence of the practice secretary, using the electronic referral system (ERS).
  • Assisting with the registration of new patients and deducting patients from the practice patient list.
  • Carrying out clerical and administrative related tasks as delegated by the clinical team and operations manager.

Qualifications

  • GCSE Grade C/Level 5 or above in English and Maths, or equivalent.

Experience

  • Experience of working in a GP Practice, or other healthcare setting.
  • Experience of using SystmOne, or other similar clinical system.
  • Excellent time management and organisation skills.
  • Hardworking, reliable with a strong attention to detail.
