We are looking for an Activities Volunteer to run activities at our complex supported living service in Manchester, bringing our residents together. Volunteering with Creative Support is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of people with support needs while working alongside our team to deliver truly person centred care.
You will consult the people we support and plan a varied programme of activities in line with their interests. Sessions could include arts and crafts, music, games, bingo, quizzes etc. You will work with staff to promote these activities to the people we support. You will plan for sessions in advance, preparing any necessary materials and/or equipment. You will lead the activities, making them inclusive and accessible for everyone. You must be patient, kind and compassionate.
This role is a great opportunity to develop strong communication and leadership skills and gain experience planning and facilitating group activities. This role is based within a supported living service for adults with complex mental health needs.
Volunteer Duties- Consult people we support to plan engaging activities in line with their interests.
- Prepare for activities including set up, moving tables and chairs if necessary.
- Lead activity sessions, engaging with people we support.
- Tidy up after activities, returning the room to normal.
- Report any safeguarding concerns to Creative Support staff members.
- Understand and work within Creative Support Policies and procedures, respecting boundaries.
- Attend regular supervisions with your allocated volunteer supervisor and complete any training provided.
Hours: From midday onwards, flexible days.
