The predicted salary is between 20000 - 25000 £ per year.
You will be required to work Monday to Friday on a rota basis between the hours of 7.45am and 6.30pm. The post is 25 hours per week. You will be responsible for undertaking a wide range of reception duties and the provision of general support to the multidisciplinary team. You will act as the central point of contact for patients, the distribution of information, messages and enquiries for the clinical team, liaising with multi-disciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers.
Main Responsibilities
- Maintain and monitor the practice triage and appointment system
- Process personal, telephone and e-requests for appointments
- Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the caller's request appropriately, recording the contact in the patient record
- Signpost patients to the correct service where appropriate
- Initiate contact with and respond to requests from patients, team members and external agencies
- Clinically code data on EMIS
- Photocopy documentation as required
- Ensure new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information is passed to the registrations administrator as required
- Input data into patients' healthcare records as necessary
- Direct requests for information, e.g., SAR, insurance/solicitors letters and DVLA forms to the administrative team
- Manage all queries as necessary in an efficient manner
- Carry out system searches as requested
- Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
- Monitor and maintain the reception area and notice boards
- Support all clinical staff with general tasks as requested
Additional Responsibilities
- Partake in audit as directed by the management team
- Action incoming and outgoing emails and correspondence as necessary
- Scan patient-related documentation and attach scanned documents to patients' healthcare records
- Complete opening and closing procedures in accordance with the duty rota
- Support the Prescription Administrator in the management of repeat prescriptions, ensuring they are handed over for processing accurately and efficiently
- Participate in the receptionist rota to maintain appropriate cover
- Support the Reception Supervisor in producing and maintaining the duty rota
- Support the practice manager with all Patient Participation Group related matters
- Support the health promotion lead and display promotional material on the allocated notice boards and in the waiting room

We are a medium size family practice with around 6500 patients in the Clayton le Moors area. We work well as a team and are passionate about enhancing care and services for our patients from the beginning to the end of life. We are also a training practice and offer opportunities for future generations of Doctors, GPs and Nurses.
Qualifications
