Our client is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their team in London, Kingston, or Kitchener, Ontario. As a technical leader, you will oversee mechanical projects, provide design strategies, and mentor junior engineers. Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing and stamping mechanical projects of varying complexities
- Leading design strategies and concept development
- Providing technical leadership and mentoring to intermediate and junior engineers
- Conducting audits, feasibility assessments, and investigations
- Developing mechanical design standards and practices
- Troubleshooting construction issues
- Collaborating with clients, contractors, and other engineering disciplines
- Conducting site visits and construction phase services
Qualifications:
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience in building services
- Engineering license in Ontario with at least 5 years of Canadian experience
- Design experience with central plant systems (hot water, steam, chilled water)
- Knowledge of DDC control systems and sequencing
- Familiarity with OBC, ASHRAE, CSA, and ASPE standards
- Experience in multiple industries (commercial, industrial, educational, healthcare, etc.)
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask and work under deadlines
