About the Firm
Our client is a boutique law firm focused on supporting businesses with corporate, commercial, litigation and dispute resolution matters. The firm's approach is honest, pragmatic and commercially astute, with a strong emphasis on building long‑term client relationships and understanding each client's wider business objectives.
We are now looking to appoint a Commercial Solicitor with at least 3 years PQE to support the continued growth of the practice. This will suit a solicitor who is confident handling a broad mix of commercial contracts and corporate transactions, particularly the buying and selling of businesses, and who is comfortable running matters with a good level of autonomy.
The role is based in Henley-on-Thames, with hybrid working available. The team is typically in the office 3 days per week, with 2 days from home. The firm would particularly welcome someone who is local to the area and enjoys networking and building relationships within the business community.
Role & Responsibilities
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts
- Advising on terms of business, terms and conditions, supply agreements, and other trading arrangements
- Running business sale and purchase transactions
- Supporting on acquisitions and disposals
- Advising owner‑managed businesses and SME clients on day‑to‑day commercial and corporate matters
- Drafting and advising on shareholder agreements, joint venture arrangements, and related company documentation where required
- Managing matters with an appropriate level of autonomy
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Taking an active role in networking and business development locally
Additional Information
The office is based in Henley-on-Thames, close to the local train station. Hybrid working is available, with most of the team working in the office 3 days per week.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years PQE in company commercial and/or corporate commercial law
- Strong experience in contractual work, including drafting, reviewing and negotiating agreements
- Experience advising on terms of business, terms and conditions, and wider commercial arrangements
- Proven ability to handle business sale and purchase transactions with confidence
- Ability to run files independently and progress matters with minimal supervision
- Commercial, practical and client‑focused approach
- Strong drafting, negotiation and communication skills
- Interest in networking and developing relationships within the local business community
- Commercial property experience is not required, as the firm has dedicated property lawyers.
